The Australian Export Awards is a national program that recognises and honours exporters who have achieved sustainable export growth through innovation and commitment. The Awards measure exporters against their peers, based on the strength of their exporting, marketing and financial strategies.
Celebrating exporters highlights the valuable contribution they make to Australia’s economy, and encourages other companies to engage in international business.
The program is made possible through the collaboration of all the States and Territories, who each independently run their export awards programs – entering at the State and Territory level is the only way of becoming a national finalist. The Australian Export Awards brings state distinction and national recognition to the nation’s most successful exporters. The Australian Export Awards honours and celebrates the nation’s top exporters, raising their profile and bringing valuable business and networking opportunities.
The Awards operates as a two-tier process: exporters first achieve state distinction through their local export award program. Local winners then progress as national finalists and are benchmarked against their peers across the country, with winners receiving national recognition for their international success.
Given the importance of exporting to the Australian economy, the objectives of the program are to showcase Australia’s top exporters. The winners are role models for the businesses of Australia – demonstrating their drive to achieve success overseas and their significant contribution to the economy, encouraging other Australian businesses to strive for success in world markets. Past winners have reported that an Australian Export Award has increased their credibility in overseas markets and generated significant media interest in their business.
Winners of the program are highlighted and promoted through direct contact with Australian business representatives at export events and through the generation of press coverage of the national finalists and winners. Australian Export Award winners demonstrate resilience, ingenuity and a commitment to our economic future. The Award categories reflect the diversity of the size, industry and variety of Australia’s exporters. Australia’s best exporter overall is selected from the 12 Australian Export Award winners and named the Prime Minister’s Australian Exporter of the Year – the ultimate accolade for an Australian exporter.
Winning an Australian Export Award distinguishes you in international markets and is a mark of recognition from both the Australian Government and the peak body for chambers of commerce and industry associations.
