In addition to the 12 award categories listed below, the Australian Institute of Export has State specific awards. With the one application, depending on the nature of your business, you may be eligible to apply for more than one category! Within each category, a highly commended award will also be rewarded.
AGRIBUSINESS AWARD
For outstanding export achievement in the field of agricultural products, services or technology, including processed foods and beverages, and the forestry, fisheries and fibres industries.
ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT AWARD
For outstanding export achievement across all cultural industries including fine arts, performing arts, electronic and on-line entertainment.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING AWARD
For outstanding innovation and export achievement in the field of education and training services, expertise and curriculum.
EMERGING EXPORTER AWARD
For outstanding export achievement by an enterprise in any industry sector which has been exporting goods or services for three years or less.
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY AWARD
For outstanding export achievement in the field of information and communication products, technology or services.
LARGE ADVANCED MANUFACTURER AWARD
For outstanding export achievement by a manufacturer with total annual sales of $30 million or more.
LARGE SERVICES AWARD
For outstanding export achievement in a recognised services industry such as the consultancy, fashion, finance, insurance, legal, health, design, community, sports, events and tourism, mining and engineering sectors with total annual sales of $15 million or more.
MINERALS AND ENERGY AWARD
For outstanding export achievement in the production or primary processing of extractive and value-added minerals or energy products, technology, equipment and services to the minerals and energy industries.
REGIONAL EXPORTER AWARD
For outstanding export achievement by a business whose head office is based in a non-metropolitan location.
SMALL BUSINESS AWARD
For outstanding export achievement by any business with total annual sales not exceeding $3 million.
SMALL TO MEDIUM MANUFACTURER AWARD
For outstanding export achievement by a manufacturer with total annual sales of less than $30 million.
SMALL TO MEDIUM SERVICES AWARD
For outstanding export achievement in a recognised services industry such as the consultancy, fashion, finance, insurance, legal, health, design, community, sports, events and tourism, mining and engineering sectors with total annual sales of less than $15 million.
NSW State Award Categories
NSW Asian Exporter
For outstanding export achievement by an enterprise in any industry sector, that has attained particular success in exporting goods or services to Asia.
NSW Young Exporter
For outstanding export achievement by either a key employee of a company responsible for the development and management of export sales and profit success, a self employed individual who has developed a sustainable and profitable export business or a company owner or chief executive who has developed a profitable export business. To be eligible, the applicant must be under the age of 35.
NSW Export Scholarship
This scholarship is being offered for a small to medium organisation that has attained rapid export growth and achievement in any industry sector. The scholarship provides an opportunity for a business to expand export operations by up-skilling its staff. The scholarship covers relevant tuition fees and prescribed textbook for one staff member to attend the Export Procedures & Documentation Course. The course can be undertaken 2009/2010. To be eligible, the company MUST enter one of the major national categories listed in the application form.
NSW Sustainable Exporter
For outstanding export achievement by an enterprise in any industry sector, that has shown sustainable business initiatives in developing and expanding their exporting activities and/or is supplying environmental products/services offshore. The company must be able to demonstrate that they participate in environmentally-friendly or green activities to ensure that all processes, products and manufacturing activities adequately address current environmental concerns while maintaing profit/table growth.
Innovation in Export
For a NSW company that has made innovation an integral part of their exporting process. Given the current challenges facing NSW exporter's today this award will go to a company that highlights new and creative strategies to help build and sustain their export business. The awards will be judged across all industry sectors.
