The Chief Minister's Export and Industry Awards celebrate the success of seven Northern Territory businesses that excelled in international exports through their untiring efforts, courage and innovative approach. Even in these trying times, many businesses are strill strongly performing in foreign markets and the awards will formally recognise their export achievements and the tremendous impact exporting makes to the NT economy.
The Awards annually seek out top exporters in seven different categories and one Exporter of the Year amongst those winners. These export champions will demonstrate the Territory's strengthening position as a valued global exporter.
The International Business Council of the Chamber of Commerce NT, is responsible for the supervision of these prestigious awards as the organisation responsible for managing these awards and strongly encourages you to consider applying for these influential awards. Winners of the NT Chief Minister's Export and Industry Awards automatically progress as National Finalists to the 47th Australian Export Awards.
On 24 September 2009, NT companies were recognised for playing an important role in boosting the Territory and Australia's economy at the NT Chief Minister's Export and Industry Awards presentation. Having won in the NT Chief Minister's Export Awards, these companies progressed to the Australian Export Awards and competed against 70 National Finalists from the other State and Territories.
On 20 November 2009 at the 47th Australian Export Awards National Ceremony in Canberra, two companies were awarded. Australian Skills Training won the Education and Training award and Alice Springs Helicopters, the Small Business Award category.
