Case Study - Swift Australia (QLD)

Swift Australia

Swift Australia
Winner, Agribusiness Award

Swift Australia owns and operates the country’s largest network of eleven meat processing plants and six feedlots throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

A shift away from traditional marketing and processing methods has led to a significant increase in employment and export revenue at one specific abattoir, the Beef City processing facility, near Toowoomba.

This is a dedicated grain-fed beef operation processing 5500 head of cattle per week for 51 weeks of the year. Products include chilled and frozen boxed beef and offal, as well as hides and tallow. High quality market or shelf-ready meat and offal products are supplied direct into restaurants, supermarkets and butcher shops. Exports from Beef City attribute approximately 95 per cent of production, shipped to over 35 countries.

The company recently installed Australia’s first ever on-site intestine boiling facility, designed in close partnership with the customer. The intestine products now have an enviable reputation around the world for quality and uniformity.
