Case Study - Almondco Australia Limited (SA)

Almondco-Banner

Winner, Regional Exporter Award

Almondco Australia started as a growers’ cooperative in the 1930s. It has grown into a multi-award winning, regional agribusiness supplied by over 80 per cent of Australia’s almond growers. Their high-tech, supply chain-focussed business markets natural and value-added almond products to more than 35 countries.

Almondco’s products reach customers around the world in thousands of versatile forms.  Their flavoured almonds are found in snack foods; brown almonds are found in produce and health categories; and slivered almonds are found in the cooking aisle, confectionery, breakfast cereals and even make up.

Almondco’s continued investment in meeting forecast growth has earned the company an enviable reputation for consistently high-quality almond products, which has also put Australian almonds on the world stage.
Almondco has been a finalist in the Australian Export Awards for the past two years, and they achieved $38 million in exports for the 2010 season.  In the last five years, Almondco’s export sales have increased by an impressive 687 per cent.

The Export Awards judges were impressed by Almondco’s  clear international strategy that focuses on high quality partners, effective use of technology and a good financial strategy.
