Alana Kaye College

Darwin (Larrakia Country), Northern Territory

Alana Kaye College delivers vocational education and training (VET) courses to a global student cohort. The college is headquartered in Darwin, with an additional campus operating in Southport on the Gold Coast. It boasts 26 VET qualifications spanning management, business, training and assessment, early childhood education and care, individual and ageing support and community services.

Alana Kaye College started exporting in 2018. It has since brought more than 600 international students into Australia. The majority of these students have studied and lived in the Northern Territory. Its international student cohort hails from over 40 countries. These include Argentina, Brazil, China, Fiji, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands and the Philippines.

Edith Cowan University

Edith Cowan University (ECU), named after an inspiring Australian woman, champions innovative thinking and learning.  It teaches students the skills sought by industries and employers worldwide, such as creative thinking and problem-solving. 

Its eight schools collectively deliver courses across a diverse range of disciplines. ECU is now an established Australian leader in the delivery of quality teaching, student support services and the overall student experience. 

The institution has more than 30,000 students, including students from over 100 countries. International students make up over 20% of the student community. Bhutan, China, India, Kenya and Sri Lanka are its largest export markets. In August 2023, ECU will launch its campus in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Melbourne Polytechnic

Preston (Wurundjeri Country), Victoria

Melbourne Polytechnic is one of Victoria’s most active international TAFEs. It targets students who are interested in quality Australian training, Commonwealth-accredited courses, and boutique offerings developed by the institute.

Melbourne Polytechnic has 4,500 enrolments at partner institutions in China. Last year it developed a new partnership in Vietnam to deliver three advanced diploma programs. This partnership has already resulted in 500 enrolments and is expanding to new courses and four locations in the coming year. Melbourne Polytechnic has also recently forged links with two new transnational partners in Sri Lanka. Key export markets include China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Korea.

TAFE Queensland

TAFE Queensland is the largest, most experienced training provider in the state. It delivers training to more than 125,000 students in over 60 Queensland locations each year. This includes more than 7,000 international students. Currently, TAFE Queensland offers over 400 practical, industry-relevant courses.

TAFE Queensland has a dedicated team developing business with governments and enterprises across the globe. The team recruits international students from more than 90 countries.  TAFE Queensland also manages the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC). This training centre sees Pacific Island citizens gain Australian-standard, vocational skills and qualifications. Key export markets are Brazil, China, Colombia, India, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Thailand.
