Asia Pacific Aircraft Storage

The Asia-Pacific region is growing quickly, and so too is its aircraft storage requirements. Alice Springs-based Asia Pacific Aircraft Storage (APAS) provides dedicated aircraft storage, maintenance and part-out services to the region and beyond. 

Very few places in the world offer the climatic conditions ideal for long-term aircraft storage. Alice Springs is one such location, where the average annual humidity is just 24%.

APAS has stored and maintained more than 250 aircraft on behalf of major international airlines and lessors. APAS also provides end-of-life aircraft parting-out and disassembly. It exports its services to a growing number of global clients. Key markets include Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and the US.

Care Essentials

North Geelong (Wathaurong Country), Victoria

Care Essentials is dedicated to making a positive impact on the world. Established in 1996, the company has been manufacturing Australian-made medical devices for more than 20 years. Its flagship product is the Cocoon Warming System, used during surgery to prevent and treat hypothermia and maintain normal body temperature. 

In 2021, Care Essentials set up a new state of the art manufacturing facility to manage high growth. It has introduced new products such as medical respirators, surgical masks, sterilisation wraps and pre-warming blankets. 

Care Essentials exports to more than 70 countries. Key export markets include the US, Japan, the UK, Canada, Taiwan, Italy, Germany and other countries across Europe.

CBH Group

Perth (Whadjuk Country), Western Australia

CBH Group is a grain growers’ cooperative based in Western Australia (WA). It is the largest grain exporter in Australia, controlled by around 3,500 WA grain-growing businesses. This year, the group celebrated its 90th anniversary.

The group offers fully integrated services from storage and handling to marketing, trading and shipping. It supplies more than 200 food, feed and fuel manufacturers in 30 countries. 

Last year, CBH Group loaded the largest-ever wheat shipment out of WA, carrying 79,044 tonnes of milling wheat to China. Mexico is another key growth area for the group. Key export markets include China, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines and Saudi Arabia.

Leatherwood Bespoke Rosin

Canobolas (Wiradjuri Country), New South Wales

Leatherwood Bespoke Rosin is Australia’s only manufacturer of rosin for orchestral stringed instruments. Rosin is a form of resin that helps create friction between the bow hair and strings.

Operating from a 36-acre orchard surrounded by Australian bushland, Leatherwood handcrafts bespoke rosin recipes for musicians all over the world. The Leatherwood team works directly with musicians, determining the sound and response they are looking for from a rosin.

Key export markets include Austria, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the UK and the US. It has an online store and distributors in China, Europe and Japan. In the past 12 months, Leatherwood increased its sales in China by 50%.

Mort & Co

Toowoomba (Barunggam Country), Queensland

Mort & Co is the largest Australian-owned lot feeder in the country. It turns over more than 230,000 cattle per annum. It also invests in complementary businesses including meat exports, stock feeds, organic granulated fertiliser, farming and transport.

In 2022, Mort & Co increased profitability by 300%. The company is on track to be a billion-dollar company within the next five years.

Mort & Co commenced its beef export business in 2015. It exports beef to 13 countries. Key export markets include China, Korea, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates and the US. Mort & Co is exploring opportunities to export stock feeds and organic fertiliser to Asia and the Middle East.

Tasmanian Quality Meats

Cressy (Lutruwita Country), Tasmania

Tasmanian Quality Meats (TQM) is a family-owned meat processor in the heart of Tasmanian lamb country. It is the only 100% Tasmanian large-lamb processing plant in the state.

TQM produces lamb, mutton, offal, sheep skins and veal for a global market. Its Lamb of Tasmania brand was developed in 2019 after the company noticed a gap in the market for premium high-quality lamb. TQM’s produce is 100% grass-fed, Halal certified and hormonal growth promotant (HGP)-free.

Key export markets include the US, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Mexico, Canada and Hong Kong. TQM also exports animal by-products for technical use to the UK and Europe.

Viterra

Parkside (Kaurna Country), South Australia

Viterra supplies sustainable, traceable and quality-controlled agricultural products to customers around the world. 

It is one of the largest buyers and exporters of Australian wheat, barley, canola, pulses, sorghum and cotton. It supplies these commodities to consumers in more than 50 global destinations. In 2021–22 harvest, Viterra exported more than 6.3 million tonnes of grain.

Viterra also operates a bulk storage and handling network in South Australia along with container packing facilities in South Australia and Victoria.

It has its own global bulk vessel chartering fleet of more than 200 vessels and marketing offices in 34 countries. Key export markets include Bangladesh, Belgium, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.
