Fivecast solutions are used around the world to help address a range of threats including terrorism, cross-border crime, trafficking and fraud. This Australian Export Awards Advanced Technologies 2022 winner shows us how it’s enabling a safer world.
As the global community becomes increasingly connected, businesses and government agencies are looking for ways to ensure safety and security in the digital space.
Fivecast is enabling a safer world by deploying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies that help their customers interrogate huge amounts of digital data.
Advanced data collection and AI-enabled analytics help governments, security agencies and private organisations protect communities by fighting terrorism, violent extremism, cross-border crime and fraud, among other threats.
The company exports to the US, the UK, Europe, New Zealand, Singapore and Canada through a global ecosystem of partners and resellers.
Strategic partnerships with the US
2022 saw Fivecast establish a strategic partnership with a US-based company that delivers technology solutions to the national security community.
The partnership extends across sales, business and product development, engineering, and tradecraft. New contracts and customers arising from the partnership are boosting the company’s bottom line.
‘This partnership also led to a review of our product strategy,’ says Dr Brenton Cooper, Fivecast CEO and Co-founder. ‘We developed new capabilities tailored to US defence and intelligence customers.’
The Fivecast Tradecraft and Business Development Team of 15 is also executing the US export and growth strategy.
Educational content for international intelligence professionals
At the start of the 2021–22 financial year, Fivecast launched its Intel Hub, a secure education platform available to approved intelligence professionals. More than 700 members have joined the platform since it launched.
‘The Intel Hub is a key educational vehicle that keeps our customers updated on intelligence best practices and drives awareness and lead generation across global markets,’ says Cooper. ‘It includes white papers, case studies, webinars, industry briefs and more. Our intelligence-trained global Tradecraft team research and write the content.’
Showcasing world-leading tech innovation from Adelaide
‘Fivecast applied to the Australian Export Awards to show other businesses, investors and stakeholders that world-leading tech innovation can be produced right here in Adelaide,’ says Cooper.
‘We would definitely encourage other exporters to participate in the Awards. It inspires confidence among employees and is a great opportunity to pause and reflect on export achievements.’
Cooper says being recognised as an Australian Export Awards winner has been ‘extremely important’ to Fivecast.
‘It establishes credibility for us on the global stage and recognises our market-leading technology,’ he says.
A future-proof business
To future-proof its technology, Fivecast has made significant investments in the past year. Its research and development team has significantly expanded and spend has increased by 68% as the company develops new tech to meet customer needs.
Key priorities in the next 3 years include a continued focus on US exports, as well as growing the UK, EU and Asian markets including Singapore and Indonesia.
The company has hired its first UK-based team members. They will work to increase awareness of Fivecast solutions and educate customers in this vital security market.
‘We are also securing the future of our business with expansion into new market segments including corporate security and financial intelligence,’ says Cooper.
‘The need for open-source intelligence to address insider threat detection, IP protection, fraud, supply chain risk and more is growing significantly in the private sector. Fivecast is well placed to capitalise on the growing demand.’
